The 2-for-1 Impact Match
Every dollar raised by Rotary for PolioPlus is matched 2 to 1 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (up to $50 million per yer).
That means a £10 contribution instantly becomes £30 for vaccines, medical supplies and field infrastructures.
How It Started
In 1979, Rotary funded a pilot project to immunize 6 million children in the Philippines. The success proved that a volunteers network could tackle global logistics.
By 1988, Rotary co-founded the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI) alongside the WHO, UNICEF, and the CDC - turning a local effort into the largest public health campaign in history.
